Aspiration.

June 19, 2009

What do you aspire to be? And that's a loaded question.

I aspire to be content with the moment, the day, my life.

I aspire for God to show Himself in all of my actions and through my words.

I aspire to be a respectful daughter and to make my parents proud.
I aspire to be a loving sister and one that can be looked up to.
I aspire to be a good friend and to not take advantage of the meaningful relationships that I am blessed with.
I aspire to be a good Young Life leader and teach the high school kids what knowing God is all about.
I aspire to be successful at my job.
I aspire to do good.
I aspire to love others.

One of my favorite quotes on the subject: "The comfort zone takes our greatest aspirations and turns them into excuses for not bothering to aspire." {Peter McWilliams}

So I also aspire to step out of my million comfort zones and be completely comfortable with who I am, where I’ve come from, where I’m going and who I’m going to be. I aspire to accept change as it comes and to run head first into the future with no abandon.
