A book review and giveaway!

***This giveaway is closed and the winners have been contacted via email!***

Since starting my freelance editing gig, Jordy Liz Edits, I've had the pleasure of working with some very talented authors and being among the first to peek at their works of art.

Pat Schwenk, husband of Ruth Schwenk who blogs at The Better Mom, is a pastor from Ohio and has a passion for spreading the Word of Christ to children in a very practical, educational and loving way. I've had the privilege of editing his last three books and learned so much along the way.

The Dig for Kids: Luke, Volume 1 & 2

The Dig for Kids is a simple and easy way for parents to study through books of the Bible with their children. The Dig takes the guesswork out of teaching for parents. Each lesson is just one page that contains four main parts: the Map (an overview of each lesson), the Dig (the main passage of the Bible you will be reading with review questions), the Treasure (the big idea of the passage you have just studied) and the Display (how to live out what you just learned).

Early on in The Dig you will meet a character named Doc. He will be your expert and experienced tour guide. Through each Dig, Doc will help guide a child systematically through books of the Bible. The Dig for Kids is a great resource for parents because it makes teaching children the Bible simple, fun, and interactive! This is perfect to keep the kids busy during those long summer days.

  1. My family has been looking for a devotion that would interest all of our kids

  2. Thanks for this opportunity! The Schwenk family used to attend our church and they are really wonderful people. We miss them greatly.

  3. (Sorry- I forgot to answer the question!) I think The Warrior Weekend would be excellent for our family. I have two boys and my husband works many hours during the week. This book would help give us some purpose/guidance for our weekends. We both feel that our weekends are eaten with chores, errands and busywork and then we have missed out on valuable time with the boys. Since I work from home, I get moments throughout the day but the weekends just fly by. Thanks again!

  4. I think The Dig would help us to study the Bible more as a family instead of our individual studies (personal devos, kids in Bible quizzing, big girls go to Bright Lights)

  6. The Dig would help us to be more intentional about spending time in the Scriptures with our kids. It's right there and ready to go, so no excuses!

  7. The Dig looks like a great resource that my husband and I could use with all 3 of our boys. The Warrior Weekend would definitely be a God-send for my husband...he works a full time job then contracts on the side during the evenings so having this kind of resource to help guide and focus him with his valuable time with our boys would be great. Thanks!

  11. Our children could really use a positive influence, as they have been getting some negative from peers! I would like for my children to think about how their attitude (negative and positive) can impact others!!
